“Come along now, (Name),” her father called out. (Name) scampered behind him, fixing her tight socks and tiny flats.

“Coming!” (Name) responded. They both walked on the clean side walk towards the cozy coffee shop. (Name), annoyed, pulled up her knee high socks and flattened the casual dress. Oh, God; dresses can be so annoying! The only occasion today was going to the coffee shop near the house to watch TV unsuspiciously. Not to mention that father was acting “The Innocent Dad” beyond belief. I know it might sound silly, but (Name) always compared him to a super villain; always locked away in his work room and working on inventions.

The bell at the shop rang, alarming the people who were already seated. Some people looked up from their newspapers to glance at (Name) and father.

“Welcome! Oh! Hey, you guys!” the owner shot a warm smile. She was always so nice when they came to the shop. Father didn’t really come here with (Name) unless he really wanted to see the news on TV. The best part of coming out with father was that he was super nice! He would be willing to get her anything, possibly for the sake of not getting caught as a super villain!

They both sat at a table near the TV while the owner handed them the colorful menus. “If you guys need anything, I’ll be behind the counter. Got lots of orders; you both getting the usual?” She asked.

“No thanks. It would be nice if we could shake it up a little,” father joked. The manager laughed, but (Name) rolled her eyes and scanned the bunches of people in the crowded shop.

“Alrightee, then! You know where to find me,” she said, leaving (Name) and father sitting alone. (Name) scratched her shin through the irritating socks. She would complain, but it could anger the greatest villain of all time, so she kept her mouth closed.

(Name) continued to look at the faces of the shop, memorizing each one. Then, sudden brown eyes perked from the mass. It was the one and only Hiro Hamada! Ok, it might be a little weird that (Name) knew his name and that his aunt was the manager of this shop, but she couldn’t help remembering what happened back a couple years ago. (Name) wondered if he always acted aggressive and stubborn, maybe not in front of his friends.  Though his appearance totally disagreed with an aggressive behavior; the fluffy black hair and young looking face confirmed his identity. His other friends surrounded him. Before his orbs could meet hers, she looked away fast.

“What would you like? Maybe you could have a croissant?” father asked, resting his own menu down on the sculpted table.

“No,” (Name) said flatly.

“Well, how about a scone? Maybe a fruit salad?” He asked again.

“I want a donut.” (Name) concluded. Her eyes drifted to the fascinating donut display behind the counter’s glass.

“Well, why don’t we save sweets for later today,” father started.

“What’s the point? I might as well make the best of our visit and get a sweet because you never let me outside anyway.” (Name) felt the speech of rebellion rolled of her lips. (Name) looked at the nearby people to see if anyone was listening in to her, but to no avail. Father’s shocked expression turned to an amused face; was he covering up?

“Oh, alright.” Father nodded. He stood up to talk to the manager for the breakfast. Believe it or not, (Name) had a plan. Father had locked the basement with a keypad, so he must be hiding something down there, not to mention that he always went on about how much work he had done, the classified files he was protecting for his boss, and even his client DIEING not to long ago. Was he just kidding, or was he for real? Her plan was pretty simple, maybe to simple that she might get caught easily.

(Name) looked up at Hiro. Maybe she should go talk to him? About what? Maybe she should introduce herself again, but then his friend might shut her down, they looked older than both Hiro and (Name). She made a grunt in distress and quickly dug in her tiny purse, pulling out a piece of paper and a pen; she glanced at her father and Hiro, making sure both stay put. If she had the chance to introduce herself over paper, it could save her from embarrassment of going up and asking herself. She could throw it at him, and (Name) could finally have a friend that would understand. Would her remember her? What if he threw it out or the note got in the wrong hands, or worse, he would put her down?! (Name) dusted her cloudy thoughts and focused on the letter. She wrote a sentence down before father reclaimed his seat with coffee and her donut.

The two customers got comfy in their seats; (Name) happily gobbled down the sugary donut while father looked up at the breaking news. Apparently, the heroes appeared again. It has been a while since they first appeared. Perhaps the heroes had been injected with a life changing super potion from the government, and they turned up as super mutants flying around the city. But possibly, (Name) had been watching to many kids cartoons. This time, the heroes have stopped a fire in a popular theater, and everyone was trapped inside. None were hurt. (Name) looked up at her father to see his reaction, and his face showed some stoic, disbelief, and frustration ((maybe a hint of anger)). He always had this expression when seeing heroic acts, another reason why he would be a perfect villain. (Name) continued to lock her eyes to the TV, watching the red hero fly so fast the camera could not pick up the official image, while scribbling more words down.

Father gulped down his coffee as the TV announced a different topic other than the heroes. He stood up, calling (Name) to follow her. She submissively followed, but she helped herself into crumpling up the tiny piece of paper. Her father had his back towards (Name), making his way towards the door. She quickly moved around, tossing the paper towards the table of chatty friends and looking back towards her father. He opened the door for (Name), and like that they left eh little shop.

Pick it up!

~

(Name) brought a slightly baggy blue shirt over her head and brought the khakis and pulled the string to fit her small waist. She tied the laces to her rather pathetic looking sneakers. She glanced over at the clock. 9:50… Her father had always came up at 10 to check up on her, so she kept it in her mind while crawling inside of her bed, covers over her clothed body.

Just at dinner, father had brought up his special project again. He said he kept it in a glowing flash drive, holding many secrets that (Name) would never understand. Ever since mother had died, he had become more controlling than ever. He had planned out (Name)’s future, which (Name) wasn’t too thrilled about. Within those years, (Name) was raised and taught on how to do thing properly, and to become another woman in society. She remembered reading old history books and how the boys treated girls. That’s how she felt, isolated from making friends beyond the house, stuck in the indoors, not able to do the things they enjoyed. Now that she thought of it more, it kinda sounds like prison. But, the plan was clear. Take the drive away from the evil, technological, mad scientist.

(Name) heard her door creak open, like it did every night, and soft footsteps nearing. She shut her eyes, steadying her breath to look as if she were asleep. She could sense his heavy breathing, and then it went away, walking out her door and shutting it. (Name) stayed still, recalling his very disappointed face when they came home. He was angry at the heroes, of course! That had to be the answer, after all these months! The heroes, for (Name), gave her hope of finally having a family again.

(Name) allowed her eyes to flutter open and pounced out of the bed. Today was the day of the revolution; we’ll see who the real genius here is. She positioned the hat upon her head, folding her hair underneath to take away her usual appearance. (Name) also grabbed the watch off of the nightstand, tightly securing it on her wrist. She prepared herself before she cracked the bedroom door open a half an hour later.

The door opened at a reasonable length were (Name) slithered out, taking one last look at her vacant bed. She closed the door as silently as possible, tiptoeing through the dark hallway. Lights from the bright city buildings shown through the windows, allowing (Name) to see the living room. She glided through the room towards the kitchen, and there laid a key pad to enter the basement. Out of many months of observing, (Name) had memorized the 7-digit pin number. She punched it in and the little device ringed in acceptance. She flinched at the sound, but the house went back to its quiet self. She scurried inside and closed the door behind her.

(Name) flew down the steps to find the large lab. The wall was decorated with huge monitors, and each computer had a pretty galaxy wallpaper and a blinking cursor, awaiting a password. She ran over to the large chair, spinning for extra ninja stealth. She looked over at her watch. 10:25! Could the timing be any better?,  (Name) thought, grinning. She got on her knees to look at the nicely placed wires and the sole flash drive! She wiped her hands on her shirt and took hold on the drive.

The chase starts now!

The glowing drive was yanked out of the computer, allowing the monitors to all turn to a deathly blue. (Name) shoved it in her pocket and took one of her unused textbooks. She paced over towards the door leading to behind the house and held the textbook over her head. The textbook was meant to shatter the lock, and with enough force from (Name)’s arms, it did. Not long after the lock fell from the door, there were loud thumps from the floor above. In panic, she threw the textbook aside and kicked down the door. The thumping followed down the stairs, and she didn’t dare to look back. It was father. (Name) turned through the tight alley where the door led, jumping over a small silver trash can. If her plan were to go correctly, she would take the information under what looked like a burglar, wipe the evil files from the drive, and call the police as if she were kidnapped. Pretty sloppy plan, I know, but it could work!

(Name) nimbly turned to the front of her house and down the sidewalk. The amount of people were not alarming compared to the busy day, there were usual night owls prowling the streets, a few parties here and there. She remained at a steady pace, not caring to hear if father was still behind her. (Name) continued only to feel her lung break, due to lack of exercise. She panted heavily, stopping for a short breather which was a mistake. A large hand took hold of (Name)’s wrist, dangling her from the ground. She looked away from the face, almost ready to scream until he talked instead.

“Your father would be worried if you left so late at night. Why don’t you hand over the files, and I’ll take you back to your daddy,” a deeper voice replied. That wasn’t father at all! His hands were large and bulky compared to father’s hands. (Name)’s small hands attempted to pry his large digits but to no avail.

“Hey…!” someone called out. It was a lot softer, almost childish. (Name) looked over to see a boy her age, black fluffy hair, and modern clothes. Hiro, does this kid know what he’s getting in to?! He doesn’t recognize her, right?

“Keep movin’, pipsqueak!” the man yelled at Hiro, put Hiro kept put as if scanning the situation. Thinking quickly, (Name) bared her fangs and sunk them into the man’s occupied fist. He retracted and let go of (Name). She collected herself and sprinted towards Hiro. If someone was after her, at least there would be someone there to save her. Would that be selfish? The man was left howling in pain, and she was positive he would come back for more. She grabbed Hiro’s palm, urging him to run.

“Hurry!” (Name) commanded, and like that Hiro and (Name) were off. They both ran down the mobbed walkways, still hearing the built man behind them.

“What’s going on?!” Hiro asked shocked, running in sync with (Name).

“What is important right now is that we get away!” (Name) responded. She pushed the people out of their path. The man roared for someone to stop the two, but no one did. Their feet lightly skidded on the ground like feathers. Before Hiro took another step, (Name) pulled him back into the small alley, behind the large dumpster. The rouge after them ran right past the alley, leaving the duo to relax.

“Now, what is going on? Are you ok?” Hiro repeated, a little out of breathe. (Name) sighed, rubbing her eyes.

“Listen. I need to go, but thanks for helping out.” (Name) attempted to slip away, only to have him call for her to wait.

“Why was he trying to catch you? What did you do?” Hiro interrogated. (Name) was left to think about long ago when he was somewhat mad with her. Maybe he did recognize her, and thinks she’s the villain here.

“Geez, how would I know? You were there watching, right? He came out of nowhere, accusing me of something I didn’t do. If anything, I’m the hero here,” (Name) blurted out. She closed her mouth in a hurry, realizing she had made herself more suspicious with every statement she made. Before Hiro could retaliate, there was a light that flashed upon them both.

“What are you boys doing out so late? Hiro?” the light said. It was the coffee shop manager! She called (Name) a boy!

“Aunt Cass! I just…” Hiro stuttered, trying to come up with an excuse. (Name) looked outside the alley to reveal the coffee shop. They ran a circle, didn’t they?

(Name) started to explain, “I’m sorry, Ms. It was my fault for letting your… boy-“

“Aww, you two need to get inside. It is too late for a night stroll. Come with me,” the so called ‘Aunt Cass’ interrupted, waving for Hiro and (Name) to follow. (Name) looked over at Hiro who also locked eyes with her. She looked away from Hiro and examined the stone tiles of the pavement. It would be suspicious if (Name) declined, and she doesn’t want Hiro suspecting her more than he already does…

“Ok.” (Name) and Hiro obediently followed.
Oh, my Lord... That took way longer than expected! XD I am sorry for making you all wait for the first chapter! The teaser was a true cliffhanger, wasn't it? I want to apologize if you find any mistakes in the writing; I am still getting used to my editing while juggling with my classes. Anyway, enough with me ranting, I really hoped you enjoy it! I put a lot of effort into it ((considering it took a while to edit)) so go ahead and comment and tell me what you think! Thank you all for sticking around~

I do not own Big Hero 6 or any of it's characters (including Hiro).
All rights of Big Hero 6 go to Disney, so make sure you give them a lot of love!
